The Divina Commedia with the extensive commentary by Baldassarre Lombardi (1718-1802), on the basis of the text edited in 1822 in Padova. The 112 copper plated illustrating the volumes were engraved by Giovanni Paolo Lasinio (1796-1855), after John Flaxman (1755-1826). The fourth volumes presents Dante's prose works, while the fifth one includes the Rime profane e sacre, and is supplemented with other texts: the biographies of the Florentine poet by Giovanni Boccaccio, Leonardo Bruni e and Girolamo Tiraboschi, the Esame della Divina Commedia by Giuseppe di Cesare, the Difesa di Dante Alighieri by Giuseppe Bandini, and the bibliographical survey Serie dell'edizioni.
