Nineteenth-century half-vellum over pasteboards; boards covered with coloured paper. Smooth spine with inked title. Top edge darkened. A very good copy, light foxing to the first four-five leaves. Inked title on the spine. Pencilled bibliographical notes on the rear pastedown, ‘Olschki Cat LI Libro rarissimo'.

First edition of this lecture on verses 85-94 of Canto xvi of the Purgatorio, which Giovan Battista Gelli (1498-1563) gave to the Accademia Fiorentina in1543.
