On the spines title and volume numbering in gold on lettering-pieces. A very fine copy, the no. 8 of the seventy-two copies printed on ‘carta bianca'. On the first page of the first volume Mussi's autograph signature and his wax seal.

Provenance: ‘Le Baron de Coriolis' (ownership inscription on the front pastedowns of the first and third volumes); Livio Ambrogio collection.



The fine Commedia published by Luigi Mussi and edited by Luigi Lamberti, Ottavio Morali and Giuseppe Bossi. Of this edition three different issues are known. The present copy belongs to the first issue – the three volumes are dated respectively ‘1 maggio', ‘1 agosto', and ‘1 novembre' -, which was printed in only seventy-two copies, all numbered and signed by the publisher himself.
