Original edition of this volume, richly illustrated by Margaret Armstrong (1867-1944), daughter of the American painter Maitland Armstrong (1836-1918), known for his strained glass drawings. The volume, contains a selection of quotations from the three cantiche of the Commedia in the English translation by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
